Cassette tapes of George P. Garrett [sound recording], 1980-1981.

Collection includes a recording of a performance, 1980 July 8, of Garrett's readers' theatre play, "Enchanted ground"; a recording of Garrett reading from "Stonecoast"; and two recordings made at American University and Bennington College of Garrett reading from his work-in-progress, "The succession: a novel of Elizabeth and James." Henry Taylor introduces Garrett on the American University tape.

Taylor was born in 1942 in Loudoun County, Virginia. He received his B.A. from the University of Virginia in 1965 and an M.A. in creative writing from Hollins College in 1966. Poet, translator, and professor, Taylor has held teaching positions at Roanoke College (Salem, VA), the University of Utah, and American University in Washington, D.C. George Garrett (1929-2008) was a novelist and poet who taught at Hollins University and the University of Virginia.
